Noah's Birthday Celebration

It all started the Thursday before his Birthday at preschool.  Here he is in chapel, getting a Birthday sticker and prize.

Here is Noah saying a very sweet prayer during chapel...

Here is Savannah, Noah and Cohen at the Thanksgiving feast...

Monday after his Birthday we went to the zoo with my sister and Rylie for a "Birthday trip"!  Rylie also just had a Birthday!  These little cuties are too funny together!

I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving!  We sure did!  Can't believe it is almost December (my favorite month)!  I hope to blog real soon about Mr. Cohen...the almost 18 month old!

Can't believe Noah turned 4 yesterday!  I will post photos of his Buzz party later, but I had to share this photo from earlier today at the zoo.  Happy, Happy Birthday sweet Noah!

Noah is doing awesome in his recovery!  The first day was pretty rough (for all of us) because he fought us hard in taking his medicine and trying to walk some.  Now he takes his medicine with no fight and is taking some steps on his own.  He has a walker too that can help him get around until he use to walking with a cast.

I guess I should back up and explain why his surgery was last Thursday instead of next summer!  We scheduled an appointment early last week for a checkup.  His foot had gotten worse, and he often complained about it hurting him when he would walk for long amounts of time.  Scottish Rite had told us to contact them if it was giving him any trouble.  So, we did and had our appointment scheduled for last Wednesday.  Sure enough the surgeon told us that he would need the suregery sooner then next summer.  So, they asked us how tomorrow (Thursday) was, and said that we better schedule it quickly since around the holidays they are pretty booked.  So, we thought, why not do it Thursday, and get it over with!

We went in early Thursday morning at 5am, and he was in surgery by 9:30.  The surgery went awesome, and we were so relieved!  He will have to have his cast on for 6 weeks, but he can walk in it with a boot.  He will probably have some physical therapy after the cast is off and have to wear a brace.  The bad part is that he might have to have the surgery again.  Since he is so young, his achilles tendon will more than likely tighten back up when he has a big growth spurt.  It is very common though to have multiple achilles tendon lengthening surgeries.  Here are some pictures from the hospital:

Thanks everyone for your continued prayers.  What a blessing to have such a prayerful group surrounding us during this time!  I will keep you updated on his progress, and of course, a Birthday post will be coming soon.  Not to mention, a Cohen update, since he is already 17 months...his nickname lately...Tazmanian Devil :)

Prayers for Noah

Noah is having surgery tomorrow morning at 9 for his foot issues at Scottish Rite.  Please pray that the surgery and recovery goes smoothly, and that his Mommy and Daddy are at peace tomorrow!  Thanks blog friends!
